In some applications these wound cores can substitute traditional layer structures, providing certain advantages: - The gap in the core ring is on the shear plane, with a subsequent reduction of the magnetizing current. - The amount of the losses is reduced due to the reduction in the number of gaps and to a better grain oriented material compared to the magnetic flow. - Possibility of increasing the work induction, with consequent reduction of the core sizes and subsequently lower expenditure for copper and insulating materials.
			In addition to these advantages, the wound cores greatly reduce the time needed for core assembling and dismantling during the insertion, substitution or maintenance of the coils and other parts.
